SPIRIT 2010 Overview
The focus of this upgrade is to introduce the new multi-layered wall concept whose implementation makes working with walls as easy as working with lines and to further provide an array of productivity enhancements so that you can achieve effective modeling and documentation in less time. In addition, collaboration within the industry is an emperrative requirement and to this end SPIRIT 2010 introduces the IFC import and mapping wizard as well as support for SketchUp 7, enhanced Collada export and better DWG/DXF import and export.
Multi-Layered wall concept
Spirit 2010 introduces the revolutionary new multi-layered wall concept. The implementation of this feature allows you to construct walls in new ways. Layout the structural core walls first, then insert openings and then add adjacent wall skins after the fact (manually or automatically). All openings are generated in the adjacent skins for you!. Or commence drawing a composite multi-layered wall component from the get go and then insert openings and all adjacent voids are once again automatically generated. In addition, each wall skin's base and height values can be preset relative to the level base or height on which it is drawn. Preassign a color to each wall skin which in turn is mapped to a specific material in the new materials palette and you now have an instantly rendered model with preassigned textures based on the component type selected. Add to this, the most accurate, automatic quantity extraction yet, and you now have one of the most powerful, versatile and complete wall systems available.
